Logitech Transporter or Squeezebox Touch

I have a chance to grab a very mint Transporter SE for about $500, or I could continue to use my Squeezebox Touch (with Bolder power supply) and add a DAC around that price. This will be for my best stereo rig. Yes, I'm wedded to SB, as it does everything I want, and I currently have 7 players for zones inside and outside the house.

Then I'm gonna need a DAC. What's good in the $500 range?

Hmmm, looks decent. A quick search there turned up more options than I thought. Time to do a little research.

If the logitech wasn't EOL then my opinion might differ, but would still rather have an external DAC vs using the one in the Logitech Transporter SE...plus you could always sell the DAC easier than the transporter

Ah, so the EOL issue doesn't phase me much. They should always be capable of streaming my music from my server. But, the more I think about it, the more I think a DAC is a better choice. The SB Touch is probably a good enough transport for me.

Used benchmark DAC1's can be found at $500. It will also function as a preamp.
