It's this weird USB cable that you use with the ifi Micro iDSD. You can use a normal A/B USB cable with a cheezy adapter but I think it kindda defeats the purpose. -
Mini usb like a cell phone ?
-
Did a quick web search. Seems there are a few different configurations.
Largest selection I've seen was at Staples. -
One end is the rectangle that you plug into your PC the other end is a weird hermaphrodite kind of thing. The adapter looks like this: -
Mini usb like what you would charge your PlayStation 3 controllers with...
Not used super commonly today as far as I know, the micro usb (what is on your phone if you don’t have usb-c or an iPhone) is far more common. -
@mlistens03 see above. This is what you have to use to hook up a USB A to B. That adapter in the pic is pretty much what I have, not even gold plated. Oh I saw it called a camera connection some place.
-
I'm so confused. Isn't this just USB A B? Like this?

Oh sorry those other ones weren’t there when I posted. oops
They really need to add a facepalm person for the emoji thing. (Forgive me if they aren’t called emojis in this case, I can’t remember what they are called and that is the closest thing I can come up with.) -
This might help clarify:
"That means to hook up your source, you’ll be using a cable with a female USB connector on one end and the respective male port on the other"
"In the packaging, there’s a female USB to male USB cable included (for connecting to a computer)" -

PlayStation 3 controllers use mini usb, all of the usb hubs I have used use it for connections from the computer to the hub, some smaller portable cameras use it... many things still do, but no where near as many as micro usb.
Maybe in a few years micro will be a thing of the past and all the kids will be using usb-c. -

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that type of plug before, are you sure it’s usb? Maybe I just can’t see it right, but it doesn’t look like any usb I’ve seen. -

Scroll up, Clipdat put a bigger picture of it up. I dont know why they did it, the ifi Nano uses a regular USB A to B. I am sure it is USB.
-
For some reason they chose to make the USB connectivity a recessed male (USB-A) style connector.

I have one of these. The cable that is. I mean, I have a right thumb, too, but that's a given. In most cases, anyway. I guess if someone was an alcoholic that worked in a machine shop, they might.....nevermind.
-
All that is is an old school usb printer cable. I have a mess of those.

Yes, and there are plenty of upgraded audiophile options from brands like Pangea and Audioquest...Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

No no, and no! It does not use a standard USB A to B like the Audioquest and Pangea in the pictures.
I have it hooked up to the Aries Mini.
