I gentleman I work with would like to sell me his Parasound P/LD-1500 preamp which is in near mint condition. The problem is I'm not sure what to offer him. Does anyone have access to the Blue Book value on Audiogon? I'm tracking one on ebay, but I really don't want to go by this and want to offer him a fair price. Thanks.
Also, if anyone has any info on the sound quality of these I would like to hear some opinions.

I own, and have owned Parasound amps and preamps. They are wonderful. About as good as it gets for under $1000 bucks. You could get a new Parasound PHP-850 for $249 and have a phono stage as a bonus...
To shed a little light here, I recently sold my Parasound PHP-850 and purchased a Musical Fidelity A3CR...I was only mildly impressed with the "upgrade." A $250 pre vs a $1595 pre. How's that for a testament?
The Parasound PHP-850 is one of the most underrated values in audio today. My advice? Buy the PHP-850, it would be a wonderful mate to your McIntosh...if you don't like it, I'll Fedex you a 12 pack of your favorite beer.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -

I'm still blown away with the 850 and I'll kick in half the cost for the 12 pack.

Thanks for the info everyone. I read on audio review one person had the Pl/D-1500 and said the php-850 sounded much better, and with the phono stage it's a no brainer. Looks like I'll be trying the 850. Thanks again!Main System
