this problem, known as tinsel slap, is generally resolved by not over-driving your sub. any strange noises - most especially if you have a brahma - coming from your sub tell you that you need to turn it down right away. many subs use tinsels woven into the spider as a resolution to this, so look in to subs that do that if it bothers you. but it shouldnt make abnormal noise in any case.

no, it's not a problem then. if you haven't broken your subs yet, you probably won't anytime soon :).

nah, it's probably been doing it since the beginning. or have you listened before and just noticed it - ie is it something that you know for sure is a new issue?

i have 2 gnx104's, and ive noticed a slightly weird sound coming out of them also, but its only when the volume is really high, with the right frequency, so just turn it down a bit and its gone
