rt1000i tweeter

Hello,
I have two silent tweeters in a pair of rt1000i's. I know these are old speakers, and I have seen some confusing information about the generations of tweeters as they were upgraded over the production run.
The ones in my speakers are model number SL6506. What other models are equivalent, that is, could be dropped in without modifying the crossovers?
Are any available from Polk or other vendors? I have found none so far. I expect I will need to salvage some from other speakers, if they can be found. If this is the case, were there other speakers that used the same tweeters, so I can know if they are candidates?
Thanks,
adam

The first thing to do is check the crossovers for burnt resistors. If that's not the problem call Polk to order new tweeters.Political Correctness'.........defined
