Onkyo TX RZ810

I am in high hopes that someone has an obvious solution to my question. In all my years of home theater design and of all brands of receivers I have used, they have always shown what is being decoded on the receiver display. I was under the impression that this was by default and pretty much a no brainer not a feature. It appears to be after purchasing a TX RZ810 that there are no display options and all you can see is what source you are playing from. I'm pretty sure I know if I'm watching cable, blu-ray, or whether I am streaming or not, and so on. Though the sound quality is superb with the unit, if there is no way to see what is being decoded without having to navigate and find the pencil tip button they put on the cheap remote to confirm what I am hearing then I will certainly end my Onkyo relationship and move on to a component that makes sense.
I'm pretty sure the reason I keep updated on equipment is for the ability to decode the latest formats and enjoy the capabilities of what these formats offer. The entire point in a receiver is sound and how it is delivered, why on earth would any company not display the main objective of your equipment by default or at least provide the option of choice? Please tell me there is something I am missing and Onkyo is not that ignorant. And I am aware of the ability of seeing it on screen by finding the little i button. Thought I won the lottery when i found impose OSD, come to find out it only determines whether or not you see it on screen when you find the button. I suppose if you keep a well lit room and like to lean over for the remote to see what you're playing than the logic suits the occasion. Sorry for my attitude but i have been searching endlessly for an answer to this with no luck.

Look at your remote.
i button: Switches the information on the display. -
Sorry, I see you already found that.

A lot of the stock photos show it displaying DTS:X, so it's possible. AVS Forum is a better place for questions like this regarding specific non-Polk products.

Barely, not a very intuitive UX design. Maybe I'm taking it so bad due to the fact that UI and UX design is what I do for a living. Hmmm!

I'll try AVS for sure. Sad thing is that my Polks have never sounded so good since I've had them and I'm ready to swap out this receiver just because it annoys me so much that something so common is unavailable. Thanks!

Haven't heard them yet, but was under the impression the RZ series is nice. Hope you get it figured out to your satisfaction.

Perfect match for the RTI A series. I've had Denon, Marantz, Emotiva Pre/Pro, and external amps in all sorts of configurations. This AVR alone smokes everything I've tried by far. The clarity and detail is absolutely amazing. After all the hours and money I have spent trying to get what I now have, I simply bought this receiver and ran setup, it's better than all my efforts, lol.
