Man, I know, I was thinking about that - if I were just now getting into audio, I could have saved myself millions by just going straight for that full LSiM and Aventage deal.

My conclusion was that most people just don't care about high end audio reproduction these days, and are perfectly content with their Sonos or equivalent speakers and/or soundbars.
Yes, the average home is content with this as well as mediocre MP3 quality files, etc, etc.

Still, many of us that love quality sound struggle to find funds to fuel our hobby. I'm still looking for the $600 705 deal I missed out on. I'll bite at that price and maybe a 706c for $300-$350!

Man... anyone in PA or the bordering states want to go in on this deal and share the 74% discount?!?

    705s for $790; 703s for $395, and a 706 for $315 - WOW!

I’d sure like to upgrade my 704 to the 706 (and quite possibly find a use for the 703s) for those prices. Hmmmmm... :/

Hmmm...it sure is tempting. But I've been downsizing for the last couple of years and just can't figure out a way to use any of those.

At that price, maybe I should just figure out a way to hook them up and set them on the back seat of my truck! lol

Whenever I see the word "Adorama", all I can think of is the Odorama scratch-and-sniff cards from the John Waters film "Polyester".

I got lucky, I guess. I already had a pair of 705's enroute that I bought thru Amazon when this sale popped up. Had to refuse delivery this morning as one of the speakers had one of the rear corners of the base completely broken off. Called A to confirm my delivery rejection and was issued a full refund plus $75 credit for my account. Just ordered the set thru Adorama.

Wow... that's a lot of damage. That hurts to look at even without pictures. These area packaged pretty good. Glad you were there to refuse the delivery.

I bit! 705's & Co. will be on their way to me shortly. Will probably end up selling the 703's (and my S35 for sure) but we'll see. I'll likely be in the market for a used 2 or 3 channel amp to finish off this ridiculous spending spree...

To all you guys sliding into LSiMs, congrats! Such a great deal.

To any of you new to LSiM, be sure to pay attention to your initial impressions. Let them play non-stop for a couple of weeks, and post up. But more importantly, throw yourselves a Google Cal reminder to stop and take a serious listen in about 6 - 9 months and see what you think. I remember literally stopping in my tracks walking through the main space with background music playing, and going, Holy crap, these things are sounding really full and smooth... When did that happen?

Love LSiM. 703s are my favorites.

Good timing. I received mine last night and hooked up the 705's for a listen with my Marantz SR5011 driving them in Pure Direct mode. That's when I got the dreaded "Does it even sound any better to you?" comment from my wife. I proceeded to recite your post...I don't think that really helped!

But I hear you. I was prepared for that, especially since I'm not giving them much power at this point. Definitely makes me want to wrap up my amp search a little more quickly...

Break-in is a must with the LsiM. My 705's sounded absolutely terrible straight out of the box. After 20 hours they start to get listenable. 100+ & they were getting there. That 200 hour break-in number you see floated around is no joke. I streamed a wide variety of music from my NAS at a 70-75 db SPL for nearly a week straight to get them broke in.

Those who praise them straight out of the box leave me scratching my head. Not possible, they need time.

Wow, I have less than 30 hrs on mine and think they sound great. Can’t imagine at 200.

My 703s sounded great straight out of the box, much better/different than my previous Polk TSi100 and the awful Monitor Audio Bronze 2 that I auditioned.

However, the more hours they get on them the better they sound.
