For sale is a sleeve of RCA 5692 tubes NOS these are Blackplate tubes with Double D top getters

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all

I’m not very familiar with this tube. If you can, plz explain the type of SQ that I might hear.
Also, do these have the extra support rods between the top and bottom mica spacers?

Basically a triple mica 6sn7 with lots of extra support. They are more mellow in the 6sn7 sound.
These are at a tremendous price you will not get them cheaper. -
Hi I don't have anything that uses these at the moment so I cant comment on the sound but I know that they are highly regarded. Yes these have the support rods, they are identical to the older 40's 5692 inside same construction Black plates Triple mica Double D getter they are the same tube except for slight cosmetic changes on the outside.Hey Snow,

Here is a link to an older pair that sold on Ebay as you can see they are identical tubes except for white print on the tube bases. I sold 8 of them a few years ago for $250.00 each.
