Looks like a great buy on a highly regarded small frame integrated complete with DAC. Half price at $249 would be pretty hard to beat.

Well, it's great for what it is, and, class D is fine at this price point and for what a small frame integrated is intended. This isn't reference equipment, but, it apparently had a pretty solid package of features that would work great in an office, dorm or any place that didn't need reference equipment, but, quality sound was important. At $500 there's a lot of competition, at $250 there isn't much.

Agreed. The size they were able to shrink it down to is impressive, and $250 is a great value.

    1) I have zero qualms re: Class D amplifiers.
    2) Black or silver -- cool!

"The DDA-120 was made for audiophiles who need a moderately priced, single-box amp/preamp to connect any conventional digital source to a pair of loudspeakers," notes The Absolute Sound "You may find that it is simply the best-integrated amplifier you’ve heard.”

Umm -- so -- what would constitute unconventional digital source?

Hmm... now, I am not a specifications junkie (I got over that decades ago), but I am kind of surprised by the way this amplifier's power and THD+N specs are represented.

Power output: 50 W per channel (8 Ohm) 75W per channel (4 Ohm)
    Peak power output: 250 W
    Bit resolution: 16-24-bit
    Gain: Digital, 11.625dB; Analog, 31dB
    Frequency response: 20Hz - 20kHz +/- 0.1dB
Sensitivity: Digital, 0db input; Analog, 0.47Vrms
    Signal-to-noise ratio: >95dB A-weighted
    THD + noise: 0.07% @ 15W
    Power supply: 90-264V~ 50/60Hz 2.5A
    Power consumption: 2W
    Dimensions: 9.5" wide x 2" high x 8.5" deep

    1) Is that 15W into 4 ohms or 8 ohms?
    2) I presume the THD+N is still pretty good at 50 watts (or 75 watts, as the case may be), but I am kinda curious as to what would be.

    :)

Nice package for 250 smackers by all appearances.
