box - sealed will give you the tightest most 'musical' response, but will require the most power and will the be quietest (relatively). you gain volume and lose precision as you go: ported, 4th order bandpass, 6th order bandpass. the bandpass boxes pound like mad, but every note sounds the same IMO. in ported and 6th order bandpass, you absolutely must use a subsonic filter below the tuning frequency, else u cook ur subs real quick. 4th order and sealed it's not so important, but not a bad idea.

If I remember correctly Polks are designed for sealed boxes.

You don't want to put the MOMO's in anything other than a sealed box. According to Polk, the suspension couldn't handle it. Sealed boxen sound much better anyway.

I have a pair of these, in a sealed box and they slam! I'm suprised at how much excursion they exhibit in a sealed enclosure. I'm using a relatively cheap Kenwood amp (7201) bridged at 460 watts RMS.

    I haven't tried the MOMO's, so I can't comment on them.

BTW, I've had 12-15" subs in my car since the late eighties.

yeah, it'll power them quite well. for these subs, any kind of box is acceptable. sealed will still sound quite good; in any case, make sure you follow the guidelines in the manual as to box volume and associated insert size.

you can put momos in a band pass and it wont hurt them
i wouldnt b/c of SQ issues, but theyll be louder than a sealed box

Yeah, the Momo's can work in a bandpass box, but we prefer one of our design. Since aftermarket bandpass boxes aren't set- up for any particular woofer (and the ports are usually too small), we haven't been happy with our woofers in any bandpass box that we didn't build.

For the mm124's how much of a difference is it between the sealed and bandbass? Cuz i want my subs to hit, but if they are going to sound bad in bandbass i dont want to waste my money.

um... okay, to bridge an amp, you connect the negative terminal of one channel to the positive terminal of another channel. you can bridge a two-channel amp to one channel, a 4-ch to 2 ch, etc. if you have, say, two 4-ohm subs and two amps, you can bridge each amp to one sub. if you've got some other combination, cough it up and we'll figure it out. this includes what kind of amps you've got (links are cool) and what subs too (links are cool).
