    Don't answer. It is used by various scammers/hackers. Somehow they can "exploit your missed call screen" and do bad things.

    Never got 611 but we get a lot of calls that try to look like they are from our area code, but are proceeded by a 1- . It can't be both local and long distance. In any event, like others here, if I don't recognize it, I don't pick up.

    I also signed up for nomorobo and that stops a lot of robot calls from ringing a second time.

    Nomorobo is free for VOIP but it's a couple dollars a month for a cell phone.

    If you have VOIP, your internet provider has to allow Nomorobo (I think most do). Easy to set up and it's a one time thing.

    For VOIP, the phone rings once with you and also with Nomorobo. If it's on their lists of robot callers, and they have thousands listed, they hang up for you and it never rings a second time.
