I have one dead tweeter in my speakers, i checked with multimeter and its an open circuit
Is the sl2500 worth my amateur attempt to rebuild the coil or should i just shell out the money for a pair of rdo198's?

Yes, to both...
Before you order the RDOs, remove the rubber track on either side of the dome and look forward a break there. I fixed an SL2k that way when I noticed what looked like corrosion near the dome. Pealed back the rubber and was able to reattach the single strand lead with a light touch of solder. -
Good to know, i will have a look.

Been reading that around many pages.... Only thing holding me back is my desire to fix over paying. In all honesty i will probally be upgrading to the rdo's
