ok, so now i'm in tweak mode , are there any real benefits to setting up a center chanel delay? mains are on either side of the tv , the center is directly in line with them on top of the tv. listening chair is about 15 ft away from the tv , dead center, rears are about 6ft up on the wall just slightly to the rear of the chair

There is no need to use delay in your application.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

thanks , is there an application in which it is usefull? just for my own curiosity and knowledge.

Delay would typically be used for the surround effects, and in rooms where size or shape affects placement in relation to the listening position.
Here is a good site to read particulars, and keep as a reference:

Naturally, the distance from each speaker to the listener's head must be inputted into the AVR. The delay takes care of itself.
Years ago, the user had to manually calculate the delay in ms, but unless you've got an archaic AVR, those days are long gone."What we do in life echoes in eternity"
