Out of the amps listed at the link below, what amp do you think is the best? What amp should I stay away from? I'm trying to not to spend and arm and a leg, but I want it to be a worthy purchase. Other amp suggestions are welcome.

http://www.acaraudio.com/default.php?cPath=22_35&page=1&sort=4a

System will consist of: 5.25 component set (front), 6 x 9 coaxils(back) and one 12" sub.

or this older MTX amp I saw on ebay:

Thanks.

When in doubt go with Precision Power but ONLY the PCX line. The newer DCX stuff is poo-poo.

JL Audio's would be my 2nd choice but it doesnt a good sub end (250 rms)

The Kicker would be my 3rd choice.

    3. Crossfire VR705D
    4. Kenwood eXcelon KAC-X650D

    12. Soundstream PIC5.700(what really hurts this one is the 150x1 sub channel)
    13. MTX Thunder895

best for the money(another words, what i would get from 1-12)
    1. Phoenix Gold R9.0:5

    3. Alpine MRV-F450
    4. Soundstream RUB555

    13. JL 500/5

**notice Ample Audio is not included
    why?
    because they suck
    and I would get a 2ohm sub
you can get more watts out of your amp that way
    more watts is always better:D
wow this took a long time
    hope this helps

that mtx blue thunder amp will rock your world and then some....

realistic power output is about 65-75 x 4 @ 4 ohms and 300 x 1 to the sub @ 2 ohms ... damn fine choice in my opinion for 197 bucks.

far as anything else... JL has a 100 x 2 + 25 x 2 + whatever x 1 for the sub ???? damn, they really did have a good idea with that one....

Lightning audio does a couple that are like that -- 150 x 2 to the front and 65 x 2 to te back... but w/ out a sub .

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm still debating if I should go for a 5 channel amp or just use the kicker sub amp I already have and buy a 4 channel amp for the other speakers. Thanks again -Rob

I was gonna just get another amp, 4 channel, but i didnt want to go through the trouble of wiring another amp up. i guess i shouldnt be lazy..lol.. one amp is just an easier setup, now i'll need a distribution block, and another wiring kit..etc... but like you said, i already have a kicker amp for the sub so i might as well use it,instead of selling it. :)

Even though this is refurbished by Kenwood what do you guys thing, being I have a kenwood excelon deck and would be able to use the advanced bass management BS that the deck has.

    http://www.discountjungle.net/kenkac60wx42.html

Would I be crazy for not using my small Kicker sub amp(KX 150.2) that I already have for my 12" sub with another 4 channel amp for the other speakers? i'm leaning towards the 5 channel amp again, mainly cause of less space consumption, only one wiring kit needed, and quicker hookup.

People that have there 6 x 9's amped, is it worth the amp power over the HU power? I am def. amping my component speakers.

Sorry to be such a pest. Thanks for the help.

yeah, it's worthwhile to amp anything; especially 6x9's that have good bass capability.

amp choice - hey, it's your car; if space is a concern, ebay the kicker and get a five channel; if you want to spend a little less and do some more work, go with the 4. all up to u.
