20-39 PCi vs PC plus

The AVR will impose a 24 dB/octave slope above the selected xo frequency.
If you enable the low pass filter on the SVS, you can increase the slope even more by adding another 12 dB/octave, for a total of 36 dB/octave (6th order).
I had to do this in my room because the 800's had lots of exaggerated response around the xo point, so I sloped off the sub more steeply to compensate and achieve a flatter response.
I don't recommend plugging two ports on the PB2-ISD - it will be underported and will lose quite a bit of efficiency in exchange for the extra extension. The 20 Hz tune will get you strong to 15 Hz in most rooms."What we do in life echoes in eternity"

Dr.Spec, I just replaced my Sony STR-DA4ES with an AVR3805 and I was surprised with its bass management system.
It seems that if I set the XO to 80 Hz, that same XO applies to all 8 speakers, including the sub. Is this the way it is, or am I missing something? The Sony allows me to set the XO for each of the mains, center, surrounds and sub individually and independtly from one another. As you know, my satellites cannot do much bass so I would have to set the XO to 100 Hz, right? Sorry I know this is a little off the original topic. -

That's the way it is. Read this article about pros/cons of different xo points. Bottom line, I wouldn't let it trouble you.

I read the article, and set the XO to 100 Hz for now. The 3805 seems to have stronger bass for CD music listening.
