Driver model discrepancy

Ok, so in my attempt to replace feline destroyed drivers in my 10As, I grabbed a cheap pair of 10s thinking they would do the trick for the time being. That was a big fail on my part and resulted in me having to fix a pole shift...
Anywho, I pulled a driver to verify the model number and got a 6500... While I was at it I took a peak at an early set of 7s too since one of the drivers was replaced with a black basket unit. To my surprise, both of those were 6500s as well. So I hop on here and double check the schematics PDFs. 6501s for the 10As, 6502s for the 7s... WTH?
So what do I have?? And why?? I know the 10As have never been touched, as well as the one 7.
Does anyone have the TS parameters for the 6500s to compare to what's supposed to be there?

I think the 6503 is the closest recommended on that is in production if you can't find an original one. -
I can not for the life of me remember which one it was, but I am certain one of our vintage Polks actually had a few different drivers used, that did not coincide with what was supposed to be in them, and we got them from the original owner, (inherited) and he bought them new and never opened them.
So they were built that way from factory supposedly.
Unless they considered some of the 65XX series basically interchangeable, not sure why that would happen.
Nothing seems wrong sound wise or how they work, but still odd to have several models of woofers and use them randomly at times. Maybe an oddity, but.... -
Thank you @pkquat, that's what I needed.

Also on the 6500's, they did come with zinc? and black painted baskets. The black were later model. I think the 6500's were used with peerless and SL1000 tweeters. That or they used a 6500 and 6501 combo on earlier models, but I could be completely mistaken on that. I know its been covered, a search for a M10 crossover build might yield some results.

^ yes, I have a zinc 6500 as well as a few black 6500s. The zinc unit has the external paper gasket.

I would guess that the 6500 drivers are very close (or even exchangeable with) the 6503.
I have a model 10a with the peerless and 6500s and a model 10b with the SL2000 and 6503s. Except for the fuse vs polyswitch (and on resister being 0.5 ohms higher in the tweeter circuit) the capacitors and inductors in the crossovers are identical.
