Sealing cabinets

So my friend is looking at some monitor 10s, and the guy selling them is a complete monster. The PRs have been replaced with boss audio subs and the cabinets now have ports in them. Are the PRs hard to find, or are there good alternative PRs available on the market? Will sealing up the port be worth the trouble of buying these at all?
