Was listening to terrestrial radio, to an interview with one of the duo, MIchael Shipley.
He was there to promote their local appearance in "The Loop" at The Pageant.
He had some interesting tales to tell, some involving their hit tune from 1971, "One Toke".
As some of us oldsters may remember, that was the song that V.P. Spiro Agnew eventually succeeded in getting the FCC to ban as being "subversive".
Here's them, back then, doing their tune

Interesting, IMO, factoid which I wasn't aware of until Shipley mentioned it, was that before it was banned, that the song also appeared on "The Lawrence Welk Show".
The .... Lawrence ..... Welk...... Show.
Enjoy, if you will, good ol' Gale and Dale applying their talents to a wondrous treatment of this ditty

That's about the equivalent of Kermit the Frog singing on Sesame Street, "Purple Haze".

The great Stephen Barncard was the recording engineer for Brewer and Shipley's albums: "Shake Off The Demon", "Tarkio" and "Weeds" all three great sounding records.
