RT55 tweaking question

I opened my RT55's to check the "guts" out and found that there is very little dampening material. Would I hurt the sound by adding more stuffing? What effect would it have. How about stuffing some around the tweeter enclosure? Thanks.

I noticed that myself but figured they sound good so why worry.

Alot of us are willing to do things to the outside of the box, (speaker wire, connectors, etc.)to coax even a small gain in performance.
Are there simple things, like adding insulation etc., that we could do to the inside, that would make a noticeable improvement?

I would think polk knows what it's doing,
and if there was a better way of doing something, they'd be doing it that way.
But materials add up, and keeping the bottom line down, keeps profits up.

    So there is always compromise.

    What d'ya say?

it will change the tuneing point of the encloser. you can get a dip or a spike around tuneing id you do. but you can get more deep bass. it cant hurt to try. anything more than 50% stuff is over kill. and 12 oz to 1 cube foot is best.
