Receiver advise for T series

Hi guys,

So i'm from peru, and there's a store starting a deal with Polk, so for their initial container they are going almost at the same price as USA. (which is pretty amazing and will have local warranty)

So, i'm bulding a budget home theater room, right now i only got my proyector which is an Epson HC 2045.

My room size is 4meters x 6 meters (13x19 fts)

So far i been thinking about:
4x T15 F/R
1x T30
1x PSW10

which Receiever should i buy ?? The cheapest one i can get is just fine ? like a Denon AVR-S510BT?

Thanks,

I would look for a Pioneer VSX-831 or VSX-1131. Onkyo still has an HDMI board issue and Sony has a heat sensor problem. Yamaha are nice too.

I don't know about using a lower end Denon, I know Pioneer lower end are decent.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Welcome to cp! And congrats on the upcoming purchase!

Personally I have greatly preferred the sound of denon over pioneer. Entry yamahas can be harsh and bright sounding (though I am a big fan of the rx-a line). A marantz nr series would also be an excellent entry level choice, but might be pricier and not available.

What other options do you have?
Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es
    Game Room 5.1.4:
Denon AVR-X4200w; Sony UBP-x700; Definitive Technology Power Monitor 900 mains, CLR-3000 center, StudioMonitor 350 surrounds, ProMonitor 800 atmos x4; Sub - Monoprice Monolith 15in THX Ultra

    Bedroom 2.1
Harmon Kardon HK3490; Bluesounds Node N130; Polk RT25i; ACI Titan Subwoofer
  • Thank for your answers guys, as far as i know i can get a Denon, Yamaha, Marantz, Pioneer locally, Sony ill have to look around or import it from usa.

For example i can get the Marantz from mrloren signature for just $250 xtra of the amazon price. thats $1166 locally, but the Yamaha v581 ($329 at amazon) cost me $676 in Peru, or $540 if i import by myself... a Denon X1300W $750.

Or i could just import a Denon S520 for $350...
By the way peruvian electric outlets are 220v, if i import the unit from usa ill have to use a transformer, and the guy from the store says this will make the unit have less lifespam (i once fried a ps1 because of this :disappointed: )

My speaker setup is going to cost me around $500-600, so how much should i spent on the receiever ??

It could be nice, to have 7.2 and wifi, and get a pair of T50s in the future.... but should i spent more on the receiever than speakers ?
  • speakers make the most difference in sound quality.. get the best speakers you can afford. spend the rest on your receiver and cables.. so 70 % of your budget or so should go to the speakers.

denon makes a nice product.. i have heard some denons in that 300 dollar price range with nice speakers and i though they sounded very good. i do know know about the life span and 220v outlets and a transformer. seems like they would have a denon model around that price in your conutry.

^^^ a AVR made for 220, I had friends in the Army who said all their electronics would toast off using the transformers within a year.

If your planing on going to 7.1 in the future I would look for a Denon, Yamaha
RX-AXXXX or Pioneer 7.1 receiver to start. I do like my Marantz but that looks to be more costly for you.
