The best way to predict the future is to invent it.

It is imperative that we recognize that an opinion is not a fact.

;) I'll help move that along then.

    Google "William S. Burroughs N@ked Lunch" :)

Interestingly, William S. Burroughs (a truly unique character) was heir to the Burroughs office machine company's family fortune.

(for anyone who remembers "office machines" or "business machines" as another company with a TLA name called 'em)

I would post a link to "Highway to Hell" or "Lick it Up" but it might be deemed offensive. Perhaps "Dude looks like a Lady" would be ok?

I have an uncle that worked for Burroughs for 30 some odd years. He was claimed to be the #2 cobol programmer in the world and claimed that if only he could have been credited for all the thousands of hours in training & schooling he could have had 3 doctorate degrees but all he truly ended up with was useless antique thoughts.

Clearly this post was made without true *GOOD* karma in mind and therefor is not really karma.

    Well put.

Heh -- you're on to me.
I was gonna post the link to another thread at CP today -- but I thought better of it.

It is a fine song, though. A fine, fine song -- besides being apropos I think, of the state of things these days.
As the liner notes observe, it has a terrific gee-tar solo by the Skunk.

I think I mentioned this Someplace Else -- but The Skunk (Jeff Baxter) earns his keep a slightly different way nowadays.

I feel, somehow, strangely obligated at this point to mention that the three-dimensional (or is that four-dimensional?) analogue of a Möbius Strip is a Klein Bottle.

    klein-bottle.jpg

In the 1960s, British mathematicians Lennon and McCarntey provided, I think, a succinct explanation, followed by an elegant proof, of the characteristics of the Klein Bottle:
Your inside is out when your outside is in
Your outside is in when your inside is out

    So come on come on
Come on its such a joy
Come on its such a joy
Come on let's make it easy
Come on let's make it easy
Make it easy, make it easy
Everybody's got something to hide except for me and my monkey
