I have had a slight center image shift to the left for some time. My listening room has been a such a mess that until now that I did not concern myself with it.
With music and SDA's I was not 100% sure that it is shifted so I found an old Maxell test cd with test tones to confirm. I also used my grandson to confirm that it is not my ears.
So I am on a quest to find the root cause. I have not finished the search but after talking to Musical Concepts (they rebuilt my Haflers) one cause could be the volume pot.
Currently it is a Bournes 50k pot.
My question is if turns out to be the volume pot what would you recommend as a replacement.

Very high quality pots are bloody expensive, so take a look at what's available and fits your budget.Political Correctness'.........defined

Yeah,
I plugged the SA8005 directly into the amp and ran the test disc. Everything seemed centered. Crossed the IC'S and double checked. All good.
Put the preamp back in the loop and now everything seems centered!
Must have been an oxidized cable connections?Mojo Audio Illuminati v3>>Quantum Byte w/LMS>>Rpi/PiCoreplayer>> Starlight 7 USB >> Mojo Audio Mystique v2 SE>>ModWright SWL 9.0 SE Signature>>Hafler DH-500 Amp+ (Musical Concepts Fully Modded)>>

As preventative maintenance for the future, you might consider spraying DeOxit on those connections AND inside that volume pot...unless it's totally sealed. Might as well hit the inside of the balance pot, tone controls, and rotary switches while in there, along with anything else that has contacts."This may not matter to you, but it does to me for various reasons, many of them illogical or irrational, but the vinyl hobby is not really logical or rational..." - member on Vinyl Engine

I plan to open it this weekend and do just that.
Also there are some ribbon connectors that need to be addressed.
