Ordered a matched pair of Sylvania Gold Brand 12ax7 triple mica black plates today. I'm currently running TJ Full Music 12ax7's in my Jolida JD100. They sound really good for new tubes but that d*** rabbit wouldn't let it go. Looking forward to hearing these!

    FWIW, I was thinking back on my conversation with Brent Jessee. He's out of the early 60's JHS version of these but I don't think he's out of the Gold Brands. Worth checking if you're looking for a pair.

    Still breaking in but sounding sweet! I tried several combinations trying to get the Synergy thing right.

    I've got TJ full music 12ax7's and the new (to me) Sylvania's for the Jolida. For my preamp (Dared), I've got the same Sylvania's (triple mica black plates) in 12at7wa and Siemens/Halske triple mica 12at7's.

    TJ's (Jolida) + Siemens (Dared) - Too much of a good thing. So punchy, I felt like the cartoon of a cat stuck to the ceiling.

    TJ 12ax7 + Sylvania 12at7 - This combination is really good. The TJ's can be a little shouty in the upper mids depending on the recording. The Sylvania's mellowed out the upper mids.

    Sylvania 12ax7 +Sylvania 12at7 - Also really good. Mids are ridiculously good. Bass is full but needs a little more punch.

    Sylvania 12ax7 + Siemens 12at7 - B)B) Sounding awesome and getting better with break in.
