Hello all!

I am putting up my PSB Golds for sale. I purchased them last April and you can read some info on that if you wish... http://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/172687/psb-stratus-gold-i/p1

These were an upgrade from my Polk LS90's and I really love the sound. Mostly selling because I cant sit too long on a pair of speakers LOL, but also because I've been eyeing up something different. Plus, we are rearranging and these won't quite fit into the space I am looking to put them.

Anyways, I paid $750 last year and looking to get $650 for them now. Shipping won't be an option, but I am willing to work with you on a "meet-part-way" situation. Zip code is 53965.

Condition is outstanding.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!
Paul

Are these the Gold or Goldi model? Both are great; just curious. Thanks,

I purchased them as Goldi's. A member here who had owned both pairs told me they were regular Golds.

In my research I wasn't able to find the information to differentiate between the two.

I've read reviews that said one is better that the other both ways, so I felt safe listing them as regular Golds.

That's a set of speakers I always wanted to try out. I've only seen maybe one pair for sale in my area and that was 10+ years ago.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

I've been looking at some offerings from GoldenEar and Philharmonic Audio. The folded ribbon and the RAAL tweeter are very intriguing. I've heard the GoldenEar Triton 2's and REALLY liked them. I'm not sure I can get my ears on a pair of Philharmonics, but the reviews are off the charts and they rarely seem to come up on the secondary market which is usually a good sign.

I have not gotten my ears on the Philharmonic either but, the triton 2 sounded darn good. Better then I expected them to sound.

    Yes

From Philharmonic I was looking at the Skims Towers or the BMR Philharmonitor. Any suggestions?

IMHO, the towers vs the bookies if they are going into the same room.

It's been 3.5 yrs since I heard the The Philharmonic 3's, recall them sounding good, but not to bew able to compare.

Those Slims specs look very nice, and don't think they'll disappoint

They are first generation Golds. A very nice set I must say.

Yea, it's a large space. That's what is attractive about the GoldenEars...the powered subs.

Although, like you say...the specs on the slims do look good. Just wish I could get ears on them. Definitely look better than the GoldenEars.

Not knowing the Golden Ears, but own the LSi25's and have hated the built in subs for music and placement.

Not complaining as they've been great for my HT, and I have plenty of 2chnl gear.

I'd go for the towers myself. I prefer transmission line over ported speaker. The Slims features an open-back midrange chamber. I like that option on my SS8's. I can close it off, add / remove stuffing, unsure of that option on the Slims. I run with them open back (has magnetic cover to close off and frame with grill cloth to run open).

IIRC the towers have an F3 of 33Hz? Of course the BMR's dig deeper, like 30Hz +- 2dB. Decisions....

I have the larger RAAL tweeter and love it.

I guess I just assumed that floorstanders always dug deeper than bookies or monitors. Interesting..

If its the same room you jad the polks in, you do have a bit of a nice room to fill.
Bass carries well in that room also. Normally I like the subwoofer seperate also but, in your room I think they would do fine.
