Bluetooth Cutting In and Out

I have Polk Magnifi Audio system. It works fine with TV optical connection but when using Bluetooth connection from phones or desktop computer - the connection is intermittent - cutting in and out! Why? I have shut off wifi, etc. and it made no difference. Thanks!
