I have 8 watts on my heavily modified CRS+'s and it's glorious. They're being driven by Bottlehead Paramount 300B Monoblocks (running an AI-1) .
I don't want to crank it too loud because I don't want to find out watt happens (I'll be here all week). My question is, will I know when I'm driving my speakers too hard and what are the consequences of doing so? Do the speakers blow first or do the tube amps blow up?

One advantage you have is tube amps soft clip, but that doesn't mean you won't take out the tweeters.
The reality is that's far too little power to get what your speakers are capable of.Political Correctness'.........defined

Thanks for chiming in, Jesse.
I've had big amps on these speakers plenty of times, and nice ones. This 8 watts sounds like a cherubim welcoming my ears to the pearly white gates.

Medium volume bliss but I'm happy -
I've been afraid to throw my 845 with my SDAs. Are the SDASRS twos harder to drive than the crs?
