What a Funny Hobby We Have....

I was running an AQ VDM 3 digital coax for awhile from my CDP player to DAC for some time....by all account this was AQs middle of the road coax cable. I was running 4 Valvo Tubes in my pre....and it all sounded OK, but not great as the rep. of the Valvo Hamburg tubes carry w them, so I pulled 2 out and popped in Westinghouse 12au7s for kicks......ehhh.....still OK but not great. Then the Black Cat Veloce digital coax shows up at my door and out comes the AQ. Not a good combo with the tube compliment......at all. Very, very sterile and flat sounding. Man.....last night I started secong guessing everything I have been trying. So this morning I went back a compliment of 4 Valvo tubes and........WHAM BAM! Think I have this part of the rig wired tight. This combo will do guide nicely for a very long time. Thanks Brock for the tubes....

I find that I prefer copper center-conductor coax's as opposed to silver plated.

So is the Black Cat still in the mix?
