Modded Polk SDA speakers

I'm just curious about some of the best sounding, most highly modded Polk SDA SRS speakers? Would love to read up on the mods and see some pics of your project. I remember lusting after the SDA SRS 2 and SDA SRS 2.3TL way back in the day when Infinity and Yamaha were at the height of their powers. I went down the Infinity path, maybe due to size/availability. But it would have been fun to own a pair of these flagship Polk speakers.

Many here do try to use the search function. Pretty sure you should be able to find something.

As far as who's was the best that is just too subjective. They all will have improved on stock caps after 20-30yrs

I just wonder how far some guys have taken modding the classic Polk flagship models. I saw the DIY/Modders forum, but thought it might be cool to have a kind of highlights thread without going into detailed reports, response curves etc (which is what the DIY forum is for) .

Besides darqueknight, VR3 and gimpod (and their websites) have some good info. There IS the thread in the vintage section too.

@Nightfall, Interesting as I would have thought a model like the SRS 2.3TL would have claimed that title.

A third one for fun, this tread shows where the SDA 1A's might be used:

@BlueBirdMusic, thanks for posting the links & photos. The resto project on the 2.3TL's in particular was most impressive!
