Best sounding universal blu ray player for CD playback??

I know this a wide open question but trying decide if I should stay on the universal road (have Marantz DV 7001) or got back to separate CD and DVD players. The universal route is easier but not sure. The Marantz does a good job but I swear some of the older 5 or 6 disc units I have hear sound equal or better. Denon DCM…
