No it's not worth it. It wont be better than the PSW202. I dont know much about Dalquist but a 8" 100W sub aint worth 3 bills. Save up for a better sub from Paradigm, www.creativesound.ca Velodyne, PSB, Axiom etc.
I dont know much about Dahlquist but I have seen them around and they seem like overpriced Paradigm Monitor knockoffs.Graham -

In Canada, I dont think you can do better than this Shiva kit with this 360W amp, you would have to build it yourself but it is a kick **** sub.

You should never make an assumption like that. I just bought an 8" sub that I guarantee will blow away most 10" and 12" subs for that matter. It's made by a company called Hsu research. The model is an STF-1. It has a 150 watt rms amp that can go 600 watts for a peak power draw. It blew away a Velodyne CHT-12.
In addition, I have had a set of Dahlquist DQM-5s since 1984 and they will match up with anything current sold for under 700 a pair. This was a company that in my opinion, made a product well but didn't market well. -
have you heard their 8" subs???

No I haven't. So I wouldn't be able to give you an honest evaluation. I did buy the Hsu on the advice of the message board at Hsu research and don't regret it one bit.
I can say that I chose my Dahlquist DQM-5s over a set of JBL L42s that were side by side with them. That should give you an idea of how good they sound.
If I were you I would try to find some way of getting the Hsu - STF-1. Then go listen to Pirates of the Caribbean (fort attack scene). You will hear and feel every detail of the cannon balls crushing the fort walls. It is a little monster (the STF-1).
