These gotta be rare.

Never even heard of these. Just wanted to pass this on for those like me who have never seen or heard of these.

Me either! The foam is gone on the woofers. At first I thought it was a center channel but looking at it a bit closer, they just have the logo flipped. They look like an interesting design.

I've seen those once and they are neat, 70's Polk. Not worth much I don't think, and $100 of used 10 year old speaker probably buys you much more sound quality.

dang it -- I need a pair of those for the collection

They go for pretty good gelt on eBAY in the earlier (trapezoidal) or later (rectangular) versions.

The woofer is, AFAIK, that classic CTS 4-1/2" extended range driver as used, also, in the Monitor Nine (although the version used in the Nine didn't have foam surrounds, to the best of my recollection).

I remember some member on here saying he used to put these style of monitors in his old muscle car XD. How's that for SQ in a vehicle, he must of been king back then.

I am too leveraged to this forum already (in terms of favors and money spent and/or owed!); thank you very much for the offer, though!

While true technically, the price reflects the history and rarity of the speakers. I'd pay $100 for a pair of these just to own them.

Why pay $100,000 for a mint '69 Shelby GT-500 when you could spend $35,000 on a faster WRX STI that would get better gas mileage and likely be more reliable? Because you love Mustangs and the Shelby GT-500 is rare.

    That would be Miller Lite.

He meant Polk is the king of speakers.

D'oh. That campaign was a long time ago (and, it goes without saying that I am too durned lazy to fact check).
