CS400 versus CS400i ?
Guys help me out here.
What is the difference between these two speakers, other that the color of the driver material?
I've looked at PolkAudio and can't even find a cs400 listed.
thanks,
-Luc

I have never called Polk requesting a rebuild of my 400i but I'll give you my best guess. I'll assume the 400 to 400i conversion is very similar to when I converted my 55's to 55i's... different tweeters and crossovers. There was no advice from Ken regarding the woofers.

I did a little digging in the archives and came up with this from "the Doc" and "the Rooster".
'Black woofs vs. blue woofs. And the tri-lam was a hair different - designed to be smoother. Virtually indistinguishable for most purposes.'

'Apparently quite a few felt the original RT trilam was a little bright, and the 'i' series was designed to retain the same tonal character, but remove that 'edge' in the upper most octaves.
As far as I'm concerned, I've heard several RT and the first gen RTi side by side, and can't tell a lick of difference. For all intents and purposes, they are the same speaker (to me).
