So I have 2 brand RtiA9's and 2 RtiA8's from about 7 years ago plus a 10" Velodyne Sub what Amp should I purchase with $1000 in mind. Also home receiver is a Yamaha Rx-V581. I simply know there is no way an AVR receiver can power these intense speakers but I need big power and quick......party season is right around the corner in Canada here!

first off your receiver doesn't have any preamp outputs for an amplifier
look no a new preamp AVR and look at NAD amplifiers, they are made in Canada

This is a good deal, has preouts to add a stand alone amplifier later, and is better than your current Yamaha in every conceivable way.

Sell your current Yamaha and you're out even less money.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

That would leave at least $600 or so in your budget to get a B&K or Parasound amplifier which can be done.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

How big of an amp do i actually need you think?

^^200w, or around 60 amps current, should be well in your price range. The best way to predict the future is to invent it.

The receiver that you upgrade to can run the RTi8's. It's RtiA9's that need the power.
150watts plus would be recommended

My attention to detail sucks. CAD changes my numbers... That eBay ad is shipping to USA only. You get the idea though... going used will get you what you want at a decent price.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

I don't know if he would ship or not. If so this would be a great option. Buy in confidence from this guy, I was at his house yesterday and bought a PS Audio 200c from him. He is a true audiophile and his gear is in great shape.
