Can I connect old Polk monitor speakers to new computer?

I took the Polk Audio speakers off my old Hp computer monitor from 2001 - does anyone know if I can possibly hook these up to my new computer? My new monitor does not have any speakers currently. Thank you

Hello,
I'm afraid not, there isn't a built in amplifier to provide power. The original HP system had an amplifier built into the sound card.
