Both are single stage class A designs.
Both are Mosfet output stages (although the First Watt adds Jfets into the mix)

In a general sense, they are very similar topologies with the differences being minor in the grand scheme of things.
Of course, we should differentiate if we are comparing the Aleph 3 or the Aleph 30 because in the case of the Aleph 3, there are considerable differences in topology. But the Aleph 30 improved a lot on the 3 and moved to newer technologies that were available at the time.
As mentioned the Aleph 30 is just a 3 on steroids.Exact same topology just beefed up in key areas. While it also uses Mosfets the M2's output stage is push pull, not single ended like Alephs. And of course the use of the transformer as the voltage gain stage will impart a particular flavour to the mix.

Wow, thanks Brock for that wealth of info. I should have been more specific originally in that I have the ALeph 30.

Sorry for stinking up your FS thread Darren. I guess I was wrong to share my opinions on the question having heard both amps using identical hardware.

I will make sure I don't share my opinion in the future as apparently, it will be taken as some sort of personal insult and turn into a party to prove someone wrong.

Sorry if I soiled the thread, or helped to in any way, but, I was seriously asking questions because I was very interested in the amp. Guess it wasn't meant to be.

Again, condolences, and glad you had a quick sale.

All I corrected were the facts you mixed up. To be honest I read your posts and never got the idea you owned both the M2 and Aleph 30 and you were giving your impressions. Certainly didn't read that way.

I apologize if I hurt your feelings, but your facts were a little jumbled.

Hey, piling on is what we do best around here. :) Not sure who gets the Homecoming crown for best couple though.....John and Bob Carver, or Brock and Nelson Pass. Toss up in my book. ;)

Apologies for the slight derail to the OP in his FS thread, rock on....and somebody snag this bad boy.

It wasn't my intent to "call" anyone out or be malicious. The info and photo's were jumbled a bit so I thought I was going the extra mile to inform would be buyer since I'm a bit..... ahem......passionate about NP gear.

Sorry if it was taken wrong..............we are here to learn/share,, etc.
