Good price. I actually use these.
I saved some one inch 2X2 foam packing material from work then glued them to it.
(3M General Purpse 45)
I was going for first refection points and bass traps. It is the same stuff I saw in a professional studio control room.
Oh, the idea of the backing was to be able to move them around easily.
FWIW

I just got done treating my room with the 2'' version of these squares. Super easy to cut and install (I used hot melt) and best of all it made a hell of a difference for the better soundwise. It's one of those things that I'm kicking myself for not doing a long time ago

Cool frijoles I am gonna try some
-
Are they each only 12x12 for 27 bucks? If so contact skip... He's got MUCH better panels for sale for about the same price.

Enders thats a 24 pack

whoa -- a hair over a buck a pop?!
(not bad) -
Ordered a pack. Can't really go wrong for the price. Need to get off my rear. Still have the ones I bought from Skip to hang as well.
-
Well, you could go wrong if they're flammable and/or if they outgas noxious VOCs
Sorry to be a pessimist. -
^^^^^FWIW I couldn't and cannot smell anything noxious. I must admit the fire hazard thing did cross my mind though. I'm thinking since the Station nightclub disaster there must be laws in place concerning room treatments and flammability I'm hoping.

Yes, in total seriousness the Station disaster still hangs heavy over New England
Whether one can smell, e.g., the formaldehyde that outgasses from some materials at the levels in which it can be an environmental hazard -- I don't know. I also don't know what materials are used in the production of foam materials like these (especially those made by extra-US commodities providers with a perhaps convoluted if not shady supply chain).

Near as I can tell these Mybecca panels are made in the US.The best way to predict the future is to invent it.

If you need several here's an even better deal:

cool (both of the above).
I just looked (derp) at the company's website. They have some pretty cool products for sound treatment at what seem like realistic prices; pretty cool. They have lot of other foam products as well.
I've never heard of them before; thanks for pointing them out.
It is interesting to note that some products say "made in USA" and some products say "fire retardant" -- but not all. -
These folks have some nice products and good prices too:

Just bought two sets of 24. Plan to try 3' x4' panels directly behind 2.1's and at their sides. Peace. Anybody that ordered these get their product yet? I am curious if there is any indication where these are made? The best way to predict the future is to invent it.

Interesting and thanks for sharing. I am not 100% sure we want to recreate the studio at home (I think of the traditional studio sound - at least of the Seventies -- as too dry even for me) but a DIY home-studio has to deal with the same non idealities as we do.
I am not sure I need to trap bass here as much as redistribute it -- for best results.

I ordered corrugated cardboard to mount them to. I am not sure how I will attach them to the walls. Anyone have any good ideas?

Depending on weight, I would think either blu-tac or contact adhesive/construction adhesive ("Liquid Nails"). The former, of course, readily reversible (if 'strong' enough?). The latter rather more permanent.
Stuff like this would probably work OK, too (albeit a two-step 'solution' to the problem)

OK... I found this read to be much more applicable to our room/home environment
