The exporting of American prosperity

Add Travelocity to the long list of companies exporting jobs to India, where they're willing to work for 10 percent of the wages paid to US employees.
The trend represents a potential seismic shift: In the next 15 years, American employers will move about 3.3 million white-collar jobs and $136 billion in wages overseas, according to Forrester Research.
Among the "who's who" of fortune 500 companies exporting America:
Procter & Gamble
JP Morgan Chase
Capital One
Lucent
Delta Airlines
General Electric
Microsoft
Charles Schwab - followed by a 25 percent companywide layoff
Franklin Templeton Investments
State of California
IBM
Electronic Data Systems
PricewaterhouseCoopers
Arthur Andersen
The Philadelphia Stock Exchange
Target,
Visa
American Express
Gap
Boeing
Citigroup
Nordstrom
Bank of America
Oracle
AOL
Cisco Systems
Hewlett-Packard
EMC Corp
Epson
Palm
Apple Computer
Sun Microsystems
Liberty Mutual Insurance
Motorola
Intel
Texas Instruments
Siemens
Dell
L'Oreal
Nokia
Casio
Samsung
Honda
During the boom years of the 1990s, mass layoffs eliminated far more jobs than are now being lost to offshoring or imports, but those jobs were quickly replaced. Mass layoffs idled more than one million U.S. workers a year on average between 1995 and 2000, but the economy generated more than three million jobs a year. From January through August of this year, mass layoffs have idled 1.3 million workers, and no jobs have been created. Instead, the economy is down half a million jobs for the year.
The real question the Bush Administration needs to answer is, given the fact that jobs are moving overseas, why has it not pursued policies to stop the flow and create jobs in the United States?

How about you stop posting all this political stuff, the vast majority are tired of it. :rolleyes:Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."

Spyder, ITA with what ATC, Brett, Sid, & F1 all said. Enough is enough.
We all know what's going on in the world and with the job situation. *itching about it here is NOT going to change it.
I come here to learn about audio stuff, not to be preached to by you about the sad state of affairs in the US or anywhere else.
If that's your goal in life. please find another board that is appropriate for those discussions.
We all thank you in advance for your cooperation.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -
Let him post what he wants, just don't read it. We have far less intellectual, and annoying things talked about by some individuals that constantly gets responded to around here.
Also realize that there is much more to the story than displayed by Spyder. It's just a single slant on the actual events. It is not as cut and dry as he would like it be.
To say it's a sad state of affairs for the nation is misleading, but I agree 100% it's just not worth the useless verbal discussion that will be created.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -

No, you shut the f' up....
There was only one line about politics at the very end.
WTF, can't anybody say WTF they feel in the f'n "OFF TOPIC" room? Am I f'n talkin' your f'n language now?
That's what amazes me about this place. If what I say really bothers you then don't read it. It's that simple.
It hasn't happened to me yet, but when your jobs go over-seas and your stuck at home wondering how you're gonna feed your family, perhaps you'll wish you really looked at the facts and spoke up once in your life...
Oops, I'm sorry. Never mind, it won't affect you because how can they outsource a job to India where you say "Want fries with dat"? My bad.
But no, your minds will be too numb from watchin' so much MTV, and the fumes from pumpin' gas at the full service line, to know the difference. Oh, wait, you won't be able to get that job either because of all the Mexicans, damn...
Perhaps you can go work for Circuit City or Best Buy...RTi70 Fronts

How many times do you think you can spout the same thing before people are going to get irritated at you? (for saying the same thing, all reasoning *or lack thereof* aside)
I don't care how justified you feel. Quit acting like the people that get bothered with what you say are in the wrong for it. Ask Demi how well that technique goes over here.
To clarify, I'm not telling you to bleep because I'm some right wing whacko. I'm telling you to bleep because you've said basically the SAME thing in about 5 different threads. Political BS (regardless of political affiliation) isn't welcome on these boards (even with your unique and brilliant interpretation on the worlds events).
Don't play victim when people react to your drivel. I realize that you're probably an attention **** and just want to stir the pot. I'm just telling you it's old (already), and unwelcome...(read bleep )......comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -

Mark:
You're a very ill man! Seek medical attention.
In other news, I DJed last night at the club and there were alot of hot boobies and **** pouncing around on stage. I particularly liked the 2 female customers that were all over each other for the majority of the night. I got on the mic and told them they were hired. They looked up at me, smiled and started jiggling their boobies at me. It was a beautiful site!
So whats this about Russman scraping crap off his **** and sniffing it? Russ, see my above recomendation to Mark.
