The 5 buck cd's are "add on" items now. As if I needed an excuse to buy more stuff.

Slowly but surely, they'll continue peeling away all of the benefits that they lauded on their members until there's not much left. With basically no competitors, who's going to stop 'em?

Don't need them anymore no longer have a prime membership, I bought my last SACD and CD from them once those two arrive I'm done buying physical media, spent the last few days putting stuff in alphabetical order

I have got tunes downloaded on hard drives and I stream from Tidal so physical media is done no more room, and there is not much music i wont that I already own. I will still attend the local record store for vinyl every so often. No more amazon for me.

This erosion of benefits and value is very popular among business models that "tease" to get you in the door. Amazon wasn't going to continue losing $$$ forever.

Amazon used to be my number one go to place as a buyer. Lately with all the incremental changes and the fact that they aren't always the lowest price, I've begun to shop around.

All the Neutrik parts were 30-50% more expensive through Amazon than they were other places, most notably Parts Express. I'm glad I shopped around, I save $35 using PE vs. Amazon. That ain't chump change.

Overall Amazon is still a decent value, but not like it was when it started out. I never questioned whether they had the lowest price, now I do. In fact you have to look very hard within the website to get the lowest price. The first inquiry doesn't always pop-up the lowest price like in the past.

Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. There is a Chrome add-on that is supposed to find the best price on Amazon called "Honey" I wish I had it long ago. I have paid a lot more for the exact same item that another seller had.
