Dad found some at the salvation army for $60.

Im going to check them out today with my parasound amp. So I'm probably going home with them or his rta 12's, there's no sense in Him keep those, his infinitys, ohm 2, and these monsters. He found the ohms at a goodwill for $40.

Sda 1a, I'm a little confused, both out most tweets and out most top woofers were not working... I figure it's bc we don't have the cable in use.

They sound so cool. Dad says he's always dreamt of having a pair and they sound better than his rta's lol he's crazy in other words.
He hasn't a very good of powering them lately bc his adcom is doing something weird, the right channel is working incredibly distorted, I wonder if needs recapping.

Great deal on the SDAs. You will want to disconnect the dimensional tweeters as they are not needed. What are you powering them with, the Parasound? Feed them power and they will sing!

I'll tell him about the tweeters, I know I'd want all the woofers goin. Yeah I took my parasound bc His adcom gfa1 is incopacitated at the moment.

If he gives me the SDA speakers im doing away with the oak siding. He is having to repair the bottom of one speaker due to water damage and upon taking the bottom off it's scary to think of what it might take to replace the side panels.

Okay so I have a question, how can these speakers be used with an adcom gfa1a. I read that this amp isn't common ground which is unfortunate. These speakers would be better suited for my dads large room but I'm not giving him my amp so I'm trying to figure out this, if I can maybe leave the interconnect cable out but still use the fourth woofer and like liberty said disconnect the putter tweeters and him use his adcom gfa 1a with them.

I saw under the publications section of sda.com has something about using a transformer in The speaker but didn't read a lot into it, is that what I should be looking at?

The 1As are 2nd generation, and cannot use the Dreadnaught. Only common ground amps can be used.

So with that said there absolutely no way to use them at all with this amp? That's not great news:(

And to answer my other question there is no possible way to use the fourth woofer without an interconnect cable? What sound happen if I just hooked the woofer to one of the other ones? Or is that just blasphemous? Haha

Run them as a stereo pair, no interconnect.

Near future plans for these pups is to re finish as the veneer isn't in the greatest shape (I don't like oak on these speakers) and eventually piles of other awesome upgrades. Can't wait, we'l have another thread for that.

I bought an interconnect from Don for a bargain so can't wait to try the sda effect soon.
