Advice for receiver/pre amp

So i need a little advice on a 4k compatible receiver and possibly a preamp. i have a 7.1 setup, and do not plan on adding anymore speakers. LSi15, LSiF/X, LSi9, LSiC and a DSW10 is what I am using. I'll be getting a parasound 2250.v2 for the LSi15's, and wold like to run the surrounds and center off the receiver for the time being, unless someone recommends a different approach. Eventually amps would be all around. My price cap for a receiver and preamp is around $1500.

I'm assuming you mean PSW10.
This is going to not answer your question and sound a little forward...but if that is a PSW10, and you are watching movies with that rig...
You need to drop-kick that thing out the door and dedicate $500 of your budget to an SVS subwoofer.

Sorry, not sure why I thought it was that. It is a DSW3000 sub. I have no experience with the PSW10, but the DSW3000, which is a 10" sub, did come up short from time to time. I will look into the SVS subwoofer.

Thanks Nightfall, that Yamaha Aventage RX-A1060 is a little more than i wanted to spend, but looks spot on. and if I'm reading the specs right, is good for 2 ohm?
preamp? no? -
I would look at the previous series, if you don't plan to expand. For instance with your budget you can pick up a brand new Yamaha RX A2060, but you can probably find a RX A2050 for around 1000.
If you don't mind factory refurb, here is one:

Many of the local electronics dealers in your area may also have the previous series, and will probably be willing to cut you a deal.
The Yamaha Aventage series, Marantz, and Pioneer SC series are all good choices. -
Every AVR has a preamp, not sure what you're asking.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Upper end Marantz.
I've got this one and I've been very happy with it.

I believe the 7010 is the newer version of this model.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -

I recently bought the Marantz NR 1607. I needed a smaller avr even though I run 2.1 . I wanted 4k and Spotify connect. I have to admit it's a good little avr, I don't use the power from it, so it's a pre for me. It couldn't have been easier to set up Marantz stepped up their game recently. My rx a1010 is now the brains for computer speakers and as soon as it is nice out the 4 back yard speakers powered by my Rotel amp.

No receiver is 2 ohm stable, even some dedicated amps aren't. Even receivers that say are 4 ohm stable really aren't, they just cut the current to avoid overheating. Current is what speakers need more of.....especially yours.
If your game plan is to run some of your 4 ohm speakers off the AVR, you need top of the line receivers or darn close to it. Receivers with ice amps built in are usually more qualified to run 4 ohm speakers like your center and surrounds. A Pioneer SC series would fit that bill.
If you wanted to get yourself a 5 channel amp, then you can go lower on the receiver because you wouldn't need the receivers power for anything. Given you have all LSI speakers, I think your best bet is to find a 5 channel amp first, then with the money left over get a receiver.

I got a new RX-A2030 which was last year's model at the time for $799.95 from world wide stereo on ebay. Take your time and save some money

Thanks all for your input! I ended up getting the refurbished Yamaha RX-A2050. Going to end up using the multiple zones. My main setup will eventually have all amps, but I have LSi9's that will go in other rooms, and the power from the reciever will be enough for those. This reciever does a descent job powering the LSi15's, 9's, and LSiF/X's hooked to it. Still waiting for the amp for the LSi15's.
