I was digging through some of my old stuff today and found a box of 45's I hadn't looked at in a long time. Back in the 70s up to the early 80s I used to collect 45 picture sleeves and had quite a collection. I only have a small box of them left but there are some very cool releases in it.
In the days before digital music, whenever a single was released the record companies usually only produced a few thousand picture sleeves. The rest of the 45's had a plain paper sleeve so if you wanted to get a picture sleeve in the stores you usually had to grab one in the first couple weeks before they were all snatched-up.
Here are a couple. The sleeves show some wear after 40 years or so but the actual records inside have never been played and are in mint condition.
If anyone else has any 45 picture sleeves, colored vinyl, etc. from the era feel free to add to the thread!
I'll be adding more from my collection.

Post 'em up!
Here's another one of mine. Unlike most of my 45's, it looks like I played this one a few times.Mitch Ryder (and The Detroit Wheels) - Sock It To Me-Baby! / I Never Had It Better (1967) -
I had a few... wonder if any survived. I'll dig around when I get home.

I actually unearthed one of my two big boxes of '50s 45s (from my father's broadcast days) today -- looking for Something Else Entirely.
I actually managed to find what I was looking for, too (that is so rare an event as to be almost unknown, actually)

Here is some on the wall that leads down to the basement. My basement used to be my music room until I got married and had to convert the basement. I still have around 1000+ 45s for my jukeboxes. I had 7 of them but again did the marriage thing and down to 4Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

The colored stuff plays good but, the picture disks are not for good sound quality. Many came with stickers saying this has a lower quality. They were more for looks.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

I never saw any picture discs with those stickers on them but I believe you that some are like that.
I've played a couple of mine over the years and didn't really notice any difference but I usually don't play them. They are too nice to play. -
Some more 45 picture sleeves....
