This can do a mic and an instrument? It looks like it comes with software too?

Yes, it can do a mic and an instrument. I only used it to connect my JBL 305's to my desktop. I did not do any recording or anything like that. The JBL's take balanced TRS inputs.

I think that you have to go to the Behringer website to download the software. I have not done that as I really have had no need to. if you have any further questions, then feel free to let me know. Thanks!

Does this have a metal case?
It feels like it does. Very sturdy piece of equipment. I will look into it further and get back to you. Thanks!

It really doesn't say, but I think that it is made out of some sort of die-cast metal. Either way, it is very sturdy and nice quality feel to the touch. Hope this answers your question. It is still available. Thanks!

Alright... I'll take it. I may need two XLR inputs for recording, but at this price it's worth a try!

Jake it has balanced TRS outputs. All you need is a set of TRS to XLR cables then. I use Monoprice.com for my cabling. Just a recommendation. Thanks for the purchase! have a good night. BTW, I replied to your PM.
