Speaker grills off or on? My Thiels recommend on for sonic benefit. I prefer my 2.3tl's undressed. How about you?

    My speakers may have been voiced with them dressed but I prefer them off....and loud.

    Keep my 3.1TL grilles on, but they live in the living room and have to be decent. Back in the listening room, however ... records get spun, drinks get drunk, and grilles come off

    Dressed, my wife already thinks I'm a little nuts about my stereo. If I were listening undressed, she would have me checked into a facility.

    Actually, I was listening to the last track on Chariots of Fire (MFSL Original Master Recording) with grills off (LSi15's) and was completely lost in the music. The imagine was incredibly dimensional.

    For the most part I usually run grills off except for my Artimas EOS. The grill frames hold the felt around the drivers in place and there is an audible difference with the felt missing.
