Here's a question for ya! If I were to go from 1 svs 20-39+ to 2, would I place them at equal distances from the left and right mains or group them both together in the same "sweet spot"? also depending on which placement you think is better how would I set the phases for each?
P.S. Home Theater is 12X20 and has an independent floor.

You cant stack an SVS cylinder.
I think the simplest solution is to calibrate for 1 sub, including phase and find the sweet spot. Then place the other beside the first and use the same settings except recalibrate the gains.
EDIT: To adjust the phase, plot a frequency response graph using test tones. Choose various phase settings and stick with the flattest curve. I know for myself and Dr.Spec 180 degrees worked out best.
I have used up to 3 subs in different locations, and found that co-locationg was always best but YMMV.Graham -
cost effectiveness... in mind.. sell the 20-39 and get a pb2 + or isd.. if you put them in the same corner they will be close to the size of a pb2MY HT RIG:

am i right in saying that the 2 subs have to be the same, or is using 2 different subs a possibility. i've seen a few people using 2 different subs on the home theater forum, but i dont see it much here. is it frowned upon?Living Room 2 Channel -

Ohski I don't know? I suppose I am using the same logic that says: you wouldn't use 2 different mains??? maybe some one can chime in here and settle this for us..Is it o.k. to use 2 different style subs in the same set-up.Reciever - Onkyo TX 797 (100X6)

calibrate one sub, test it....walk around your room and find the spot that has the least amount of bass, place ur second sub there.
i heard it works, never tried it tho. -
might try that, i have a very large room, living room and dining room are combined into one large room. ah, WTF, what can it hurt?Living Room 2 Channel -
