Anyone hide their SDAs

I was listening to a music set with the lights off. There are no windows in my basement room so the only light is from the electronics. I realized that the SDA effect is much more detailed in the dark. Same thing with my eyes closed. It would seem that having a visual reference for speaker location confuses my brain and it spends more energy resolving the discrepancy than processing the music. Has anyone experimented with hiding the boxes? Maybe a curtain of speaker cloth. I sometimes like to read as I listen and wondered if the sound would come through as it does in the dark. What do you think?

That doesn't happen with just SDA's. Anytime you close your eyes listening to anything your ears start to compensate for the lack of vision. In short, as long as your eyes are open you will not experience heightened hearing.Political Correctness'.........defined

I envision the front wall of my listening room being one giant solid black speaker grill. Then have my screen lower down in front of that for movie time..
I like it..

That's what I'm talkin' about. Right there. Question is. Is there any merit to it?Schiit Freya+, Krell KAV-250a, R-Pi network streamer, 8Tb NAS, Thorens TD-145 MKIII with Ortofon 2M red, Polk: Monitor-10B, SDA-1A, SDA-SRS -
I can envision having a friend listen to the system for a bit. Then pulling back the curtain to show the speakers. One might imagine him asking "where are the rest?".Schiit Freya+, Krell KAV-250a, R-Pi network streamer, 8Tb NAS, Thorens TD-145 MKIII with Ortofon 2M red, Polk: Monitor-10B, SDA-1A, SDA-SRS

Darkness is better. Closing eyes, makes one think about keeping them closed.
Pitch black or close to it with eyes open! -
