Given the rep of Gary Dodd, the rarity of the piece, and the sad fact there will never be another, I find the price to be a good value

Rare doesn't always mean it's worth it. Nostalgic yes, if your heart wants it buy it.
As you may or may not know, Russman spent a lot of time with Gary and considers him as one of his mentors.

Thought you were speaking of lightman Russ... He wouldn't know a good value if he were given a free Porsche with a hot babe naked in the passenger seat...

No I called up the rooster, it looked very tempting, and still does. Russ knows the design.

The make offer option works wonders in a lot of cases. Chose your price and give it a try. It may even take a second or third push to get it done.

I am not trying to beat anyone up but if the cash is needed I am willing to help.
