Receiver Help

I am setting up a second 5.1 small theater in my bonus room, and I have a receiver dilemma. The speakers will be R50's for mains, CSM center, and R15's for surrounds, with an SVS PB10-ISD sub.
I have an Onkyo TX-SR603X receiver in my basement in excellent condition, but it does not have HDMI. My question is do I sell the Onkyo and get what I can (not much currently) and get a lower end receiver with HDMI, or use the component connections and settle for 720P with the Onkyo?
Finally, if you think the first option is something I should consider, can you recommend a nice inexpensive receiver? I was looking at a Sony STRDH550 refurb on Amazon for $169.00.
Any help would be appreciated!

I realize HDMI is needed for carrying some of the latest decoding, however, is that really thar important for this secondary system? Run HDMI from DVD straight to TV and rca out to receiver for audio. Save your money and apply it to what you want later.

Not a big fan of Sony for movies, they are great on music. My in-laws have a newer low end Sony and it has a bit of an hollow sound to it.
The Onkyo you have is ok, but it wont do DTS-HD audio. Look at A4L for a good low end receiver http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/category/avreceiver/home-audio/receivers-amps/home-theater-receivers/1.html
THe one they have that is sub $200 that sticks out to me is the Pioneer Elite VSX-44 for $199 http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/pionvsx44/pioneer-elite-vsx-44-7.2-ch-x-80-watts-networking-a/v-receiver/1.htmlWhen I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Thanks for the responses. I am going to use the Onkyo 603, use HDMI from the devices right to the TV, & optical audio to the receiver. I won't get HD audio, but DD & DTS is OK for the bonus room. Thanks again.bms
