Can I run a high value capacitor in series with my set of Polk 7b's to just knock off the lowest of bass frequencies without affecting quality too much? And would it be better to bypass this with a .1uF cap?

Thanks,
Mitchell

What's wrong with the bass performance of your speakers? It could be something else like a pre, source, etc that's causing the problem.

Are you planning to add the cap between the speaker cable and binding post? Never heard of anyone doing it but wouldn't it change the overall specs of the speakers depending on the layout of the stock x-over? It would probably be better to tweak the stock x-over instead. You should contact Polk about this and see what they have to say.

Forgot to mention. Have thought about using an EQ or an active x-over. If you use the active x-over, you'll need to bypass the speaker's x-over.
