Hello,
CL add has a BDP-83 for $200 http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/ele/5959482266.html
Before I make the guy an offer I was wonder if this model was any good. Did this model ever have a cinavia free firmware?
Thanks
Loren

When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

You could get a newer model for not much more.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Cool thanks guys, I was going to offer this guy one of my two speed fishing reels as a trade, looks like no. Reel will go on bloody decks next week. When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

mrloren, not bashing you but why would you think the seller of the Oppo would be interested in a trade for a fishing reel? I've gotten weird offers like that so often in the past that I now state no trades whenever I sell on CL. I guess it never hurts to ask, but I just don't understand the thinking that goes into making an off the wall offer like that. Enlighten me.

Unless it specifically says trades welcome. No I don't want to trade my car for a rifle plus medical marijuana.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Right. If you have a rifle plus medical marijuana, you need a car.

the seller is in the area that whenever I buy trade or sell fishing stuff about 50% is from people in that area.
One of the reels I have up for sale is a shimano TLD30 2 speed. more for landing 80lb+ tuna. Retail is over $300, mine is a 9 out of 10. Most people who would use this reel are people who would have an Oppo or other high end fishing gear. When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. I have had a BDP-83 from new without issues for a few years. I have heard about the disc tray sticking problem, which seems to be easily fixed. The Craigslist one looks to be pretty beat up, no sign of a remote or box in the photos. eBay prices seem to be below $150 for models in great shape with remote. I would pass on it.

I also know I am not alone when not only am I an audio junkie but I also love to fish.
I've been on 5 day boats with doctors, lawyers and engineers. Only thing that sucks is fuel prices has driven me down to just a couple of shorter trips a year. When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Oppo's BDP 83 was well thought of for sound quality vs the 93 and it clearly
has held value. I'd go new though. Just my 2 cents. -
I am going to sell some of my fishing gear and bank it for walnut signature. will have to see how much is left over for an Oppo. When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

I've had an 83 since day one.. I'm still waiting for it to break down before purchasing another.. The only quirk recently is the tray won't open right away after turn on.. Takes two or 3 tries before it opens.. No big deal to me..

Oppo fixed the disc/tray problem on my 83 for free, even though it was out of warranty.
I'll be using this til it craps out.

was just looking, the guy has marked it down to $170, it does look a little abused so I will pass.
I need to find a local deal on a 103 after I get walnut signature speakers. When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.
