USPS are they that understaffed?

It appears they are in our town, 3rd time in about a year I had to visit one of ours to mail a package and get the new Elvis Presley Sheet of the Icon series stamps. There are 4 counters but only one has a person in it the other three have the closed counter sign on it, there were at least 15 people in line the only counter person had to do packages, passports, sell stamps, and whatever other stuff they are pimping, tape, supplies, cards, those if it fits it ships boxes what an inconvenience for us customers.

The funny thing is everyone in line is very irritable and every couple of minutes some one sticks there head out from around the corner and yells out is anyone picking up packages or changing their address, you can see it in everyone's facial expressions that they are saying to themselves no now get up here and man one of these 3 empty counters, needless to say 35 minutes later I was finally able too mail my package get my Elvis stamps and exit our madhouse of a post office probably to never return. It was like this the other two times I visited non holiday season, this concludes my rant of the day. I think the postal service needs some reorganization!!!!!

USPS sucks. A lot of times they mark my packages as "no secure location to leave it" before they even start their route so they don't have to bring them to my door or even on their truck, making me go pick them up. When they do bring my packages they leave them on the opposite end of my apartment building of my door on the sidewalk. Nothing like picking your records out of the snow and brushing off the cardboard box.

I hear you I got a free Megadeth Dystopia LP when I bought the CD, they shipped USPS it was raining the day they delivered it, instead of putting it on the deck where it would not of gotten wet they put it on top of my rather large mailbox leaving it in the elements yeah it got wet and yeah I was pretty pissed, they are a caricature of what they once were.

For the most part, many are your typical government workers. Could care less about you, the customer, they're protected. My Post office is the same, one person maybe 2 if it's really busy but never ever more than 2. Lines always, that take forever....nobody cares, nobody thinks twice about it. Yet they lose money every year hand over fist. Let Amazon deliver the mail, betcha they'd do it faster and cheaper.
